CALL FOR ABSTRACTS - POSTERS

We invite all interested individuals to submit abstracts for poster presentation at the upcoming 12th Annual Meeting of the North American Section of the International Academy of Cardiovascular Sciences, scheduled for September 18-20, 2025. This is an excellent opportunity to share your research, insights, and advancements with peers and experts in the field.

Submission Process

The IACS-NAS has a strong commitment to promoting the academic careers of junior researchers. Accordingly, a poster session will be offered to all participants, including students, postdoctoral fellows, residents, physicians-in-training, and faculty.

  1. Abstract Submission

    Please prepare a pdf document including the abstract title, authors, institutions, body of the abstract, and any relevant graph or image. Email the pdf file to Ms. Julia Siu (Julia.Siu@unlv.edu)
  2. Review by Scientific Committee

    All submitted abstracts will be reviewed for relevance, originality, and scientific merit.
  3. Notification of Acceptance

    Authors of accepted abstracts will be notified by September 01, 2025. Detailed guidelines for poster preparation will be provided at that time.
  4. Publication of Abstracts

    Abstracts will be published in the Canadian Journal of Physiology and Pharmacology. Please note that the presenting author must register in order for the abstract to be published in the journal.

Poster Presentation

  • If your abstract is accepted, you will be invited to present your poster at the conference.
  • Please ensure your poster is professionally printed and adheres to the standard 3'x4'; (HxW) size commonly used in academic poster presentations. Detailed format requirements will be provided upon acceptance.
  • Presenters must be available to discuss their posters during the designated poster session times.

Selection Considerations

Space Limitations: Due to space constraints, not all high-quality submissions may be accommodated. Priority will be given to abstracts with the highest scores based on review criteria.

Abstract Requirements

  1. Must include clinical or research data. Abstracts of commercial products must consist of experimentally derived data.
  2. Results must be the work of the listed author(s).
  3. Abstract submitters, if accepted, must register and attend the meeting.
  4. Abstracts containing identical or nearly identical data submitted from the same institution and/or individuals will be disqualified.
  5. Proofread abstracts carefully to avoid errors before submission.

Abstract Requirements

  • Microsoft Word document
  • 500 words maximum (excluding title, authors, and affiliations). This includes text plus any graphics (figures and tables).
  • 11-point Arial font.
  • Margins: 1 inch.
  • Abstract title: bold and centered.
  • Corresponding author: Name and email address.
  • Abstract body should preferably include: Background, Objectives, Methods, Results, Conclusions.
  • May include graphs, tables and images.
  • May exclude references.

Review Criteria

Each abstract is reviewed for adherence to content rules, significance, and presentation. The main factors considered for acceptance are:

  • Clarity: The objectives of the research are clearly described.
  • Significance: The research makes a significant contribution to respective field.
  • Methods: The methods used (design, implementation, and analysis) are appropriate to achieve the research objectives.
  • Presentation: The abstract is logical, interesting, clearly written, and free of grammatical or typographical errors.
